The Famous H & H...

Hello and Help...My name is Lenny btw, I have a chance to pick up an 09 Versys for 3,700 with 1,986miles. Good Deal?...also i have acouple of bikes so no strange to riding(meaning it`s not gonna like a learners bike or anything like that), The more i read about the V the more i like it for what i really want it.

Long story short, i`m looking for a bike so i can ride with wifey and enjoy some scenary, I`m 6'1 close to 180 and she`s 4'11 close to 100?..so chances are this most likely it`s gonna be 2up riding all the time....anyway i`m supposed to see the bike tomorrow...anything i should check for? oh..btw bike it`s completly stock except for a 2brothers exhaust(not a fan),,any help will be greatly appreciated.

lenny.

I love the V but I only ride solo. For 2 up riding I think you might be better off with a V-Strom. Itís a similar upright riding position & sport-touring design but a bit roomier for 2...

I'm about your size, and my GF is 5'8" 130. It's not the best bike for 2up, but we enjoy it. Wouldn't want to ride for more than a couple of hours, though.

Just finished a 7000 mile 2-up ride. Did 5k miles 2-up last summer, and 2k miles 2-up last winter. Airhawk seat pads are a must IMO. I'm 6'2", 220 lb. My girl is 5'7", about 110 lbs. It's not the most comfortable bike in the world, but it's fun, and handles all kinds of roads well. The price you quoted sounds good. If you're doing nothing but 2-up, on pavement, the Vstrom 1000 might be a better choice. Personally, I feel more comfortable riding the Versys on dirt/gravel than the big Vstrom.
