new Versys owner

hi all.
new 2009 versys owner here.
I'm definitely not new to motorcycling, having owned over 100 motorcycles, and roadracing or supermoto since 1997. i traded my Ducati multistrada 1000 for the versys, and besides a lack of power, i'm not disappointed at all. of course theres the typical complaints for a budget bike.... seat, bars, etc.... but those can all be rectified in short order. its seems to be a very nimble bike, as far as street machinery goes, but i'm dumping the stock tires almost immediately for some Bridgestone BT003's. i have enough tire money from winning races this season to order them up free of charge, so why not put some sticky stuff on and scrape some pegs!!!!!

anyways, i'm in the Janesville, WI area...... and hope to be able to offer some info in some way at some point in time.

Heck you must go through 7.14 bikes per year, congrats if you hold on to the little Versys for 2 months

well, since 100 bikes seems difficult to fathom, i'll touch on a few...and i started riding in 1990.

1988 suzuki 600 katana was my first real bike after owning a 50cc honda spree.
1989 kawasaki zx7
1993 kawasaki zx7 x 2
1990 suzuki gsxr750
yamaha ysr50 x 5
1995 ducati 900ss x 2
kawasaki ex500 x 7
honda rs125
kawasaki ex250 x 4
kawasaki klx110 x 3
yamaha ttr90
yamaha yz250f
yamaha yz125 x 2
honda xr600
buell
kawasaki kx65 x 3
yamaha fzr600 x 2
honda hawk gt
suzuki rm125
honda crf150r
honda xr100
honda cr85 x 2
honda xr50 x 5
sachs madass x 2
honda shadow 750 ace
suzuki sv650 x 2
2002 suzuki gsxr600
suzuki burgman
honda cb360 x 3
2007 aprilia sxv450
honda cr60
1989 honda pc800
honda xr70
2005 ducati multistrada 1000
2009 kawasaki versys

obviously this isn't all of them...... but its more than half, for sure..... i didnt count. i owned my first ducati 900 for 5 years, and my multistrada for 6 years..... otherwise, the majority didnt stick around long! i'm trying to slow down, as well as thin the heard now. my garage currently has the versys, pc800, yz125 set up for sm, kx65, and a ninja 250 set up for road racing..... but i believe thats going away in a swap for a yamaha tz125. mostly, i race.... so going through those bikes so quick is understandable. street bikes i tend to keep longer. i'm liking the versys enough to keep it around.
