Been Lurking

So, I have been lurking for a bit and I am finally writing my first post; thanks to bear on a bicycle.

I been riding street 29 years, mostly sport bikes. The garage at one point had 5 bikes, 2 Ducs, an Aprilia and 2 Hondas. Over the years , I have owned may others.

I start having kids a couple of years ago, We have twins coming in a couple of months, so one by one the bikes have been sold. My plan was to downsize and have only one reliable ride. The Versys was on the short list. I rode it back to back against the Ninja 1000 and loved the Versys! How ever, I couldnt pass up a deal on an '07 R1 with 1700 miles. While the R1 is very nice, I am still haunted with the idea of the V.

with all that said, I will continue to lurk, and maybe, just maybe, you will all convince me to sell the R and grab a Versys.

2007 R1 is a great bike, except for that horrible dead spot in the throttle that Yamaha says doesn't exist. Plus that exhaust is dynamite in the winter for keeping the legs warm, lol. Enjoy it, I gave up sportbikes about three years after my first son was born. Now with two boys I could never go back, V is a great bike that still puts a smile on my face without the temptation to go 160.

It's pretty cool to see someone who has had many bikes really like the Versys to be their "one". With that said, I hope you get to scratch that itch one day. I wonder though when people go through so many bikes, why they would stop with one and not want the next best thing?? Don't get me wrong, if you are able to continue trying out new stuff, that sounds fun too!

and be safe no matter what you ride!

If I can swing it, I will add the V to complement the R1, if not, I may be destined to be a one bike guy with the V between my legs.
