Proud Owner of a 2011 Versys

So far love the Versys. My only issue seems to be the height when trying to back up. Sometimes its necessary.

You guys provide a crud ton of information which led me to buy the versys. Thank you.

One thing to be aware of is Kawasaki America is unable to get the low gel seats, so if your like me and wanted to try the seat before lowering you will have to find a used one which may or may not fit. Haven't been able to confirm it yet.

Anyway little about me.

I'm married, like to ride motorcycles and play a bit of electric bass. Rode alot as a teenager but left home and hadn't touched a motorcycle in 15 years. Started up again with a Ninja 250 and then sacrificed her to buy the Versys.

Did I mention I'm very appreciative of the information here.

Greetings, and congrats on your purchase. 2 years ago when I bought my 09 I had also got a low gel seat for it, and after about 3 weeks with that seat i sold it as I didn't find it comfortable. Have fun, and be safe.

Those who say money can't buy happines haven't bought A VERSYS.

Hi Mike and welcome!
My seat on my 2010 is becoming more comfortable as it is getting softer! Any way ride safe and have a great time! I have been on some awesome rides! Wanted to get a picture of the 30ft snow wall on the beartooth pass! I'm only 60 miles from it!

If you can't order the low seat why not try re-shaping the seat yourself?

Here's a great DIY site:

whoa

Thats freaky.

Totally off topic but what kind of bass do you rock. I bought an off brand called Fullerton and purchased three basses since and sold every single one because the tone, sustain and speed are just phenomemal on the one I use. A minor adjustment on the tone knob allows for slap, hard rock, or ballady type sounds.

For being a seconds brand that little baby sings like a champ.

Still haven't figured a way to go to band practice on the versys packing the bass yet though.

Check this thing out-
Uncle Freddy's Guitar Carrier

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on the new bike!

Look to park on the upslope when you can, then gravity is your friend. If that's not possible you can back her out before you mount.
Or check out Speedy's lowering kit, it works great.

I could use a little more reach myself. Does Speedy make a Leg Lengthening Kit?

Sargent

Congrats on the new Versys. I too was out of the sport for awhile (13 years) and got back in just before the Versys came out. I had a V-Strom 650 from 07-10 until a deer totaled it last summer and I cashed in my insurance check for a "used" 08 Versys with 250 miles. 1 year, 10,000 miles, and 2 sets of tires later I am still thrilled every time I ride the Versys. I would love a Ducati Multistrada, but for a third of the price the Versys is a better value by every measure.

As far as your seat, I had Sargent redo my seat to my specifications. I cost about $350 and took three weeks, but there is no way my butt would have survived 3,000 miles to CA and back on the horrible factory seat. I actually had mine raised 1" so I am not sure how your lowering needs would work with their process but I love the results from my mod.

Look forward to seeing you on the road!
