New member to the forum from Middle Tennessee.

Doing my research on the Versys to try to determine if I want one for my next bike. Currently riding a FJR1300 and Ninja 250 on the street. Looking to add a middle weight in the bunch again since I sold my SV650.

As for me, been riding on the street since 2003, moved through a few different bikes before finding what I like. Started on a Rebel 250 then to a Shadow 750 ACE and finally found my personal preference, sport standards in a VTR250 and the SV650. From there moved to the FJR & sold the SV and picked up a Ninja 250. Now it's time to downsize again and get another middleweight.

I went from a BMW R1100S to a Versys. Still have my SV650 for a track bike. You'll like the Versys. The engine will remind you of your SV. It does me.

2003 BMW R1100S Boxer Cup Prep (sold)
2004 Suzuki SV650 (sold, wish I hadn't)
2009 Kawasaki Versys (commuter/dragon slayer)
Future bike: Ducati Sport 1000S (just because

Welcome. I'm south of Nashville near the AL line. The versys puts a big smile on my face. I actually accidently wheelied it with just the throttle the other day. I've never owned a bike that would do a throttle wheelie. I guess now I know why Kawasaki doesn't recommend running saddlebags and trunk at the same time.

Wait until you have saddlebags and a trunk packed for a weeks trip with the pretty wife on the back. I have to lean forward over the tank to keep the silly thing down. Whoooo Nelly! When downshifting into 3rd gear to pass slow traffic it does the same thing.

That's one of the reasons why my wife hated the SV650 with all three cases loaded for a trip!

Much more acceleration than a light take off and it was wheelie time! I couldn't tell you how many kidney punches I got taking off from a redlight on the back wheel...
