Just joined the forum

Hello all. I have been watching the forum for a while and after reading all the positives on these bikes I had to have one. I am now the proud owner of a 09 green Versys. I bought the bike with 7900 miles on it and have ridden it to work just about every day since I bought it.

I own a v-rod still but have put more miles on the Versys in the last month than the v-rod has seen in over a year.

Thanks for a very informative forum and I look forward to many happy miles on the bike.

Hi. Sick of gas prices, decided to do something about it. Read a lot about different bikes, including this board so I picked the Versys 1) for the gas mileage and 2) for the fun quotient. See a lot of enthusiasm!

Haven't ridden in 25 years, taking a Rider's Edge class in a few weeks before I have the dealer deliver my new baby.

Need a GPS. Besides commuting on the bike which will save me a ton of money, I plan on getting lost and finding my way home for fun. I like to stick to the "Blue Highways" as a rule, and avoid freeways. Any suggestions for GPS? Or anything else?

welcome scottr. Enjoy the V

pwkulp, u can go with the Zumo which are waterproof or get a regular garmin and get a waterproof casing from ebay for cheaps. The water proof casing can be mounted to the handle bars (and dismount easily). Check my siggie for the pics.
