New rider / 1st bike, Versys

Hi everybody,

I am a rookie rider, fresh out of MSF Basic rider course. I bought my first bike a month ago, (09' Versys) LOVE IT!! Its the perfect mid weight bike for me. Just took it out on the "main road" this morning got it up to 45 mph. the fastest I've been. The bike felt stable, and I felt my confidence increase as I road it all of 10 miles. Can't wait to get better at the controls so I can really ride it.

Thanks,

congratulations. It is a great first bike or even 6th or 7th as in my case. It only gets more fun as you gain some experience.

Welcome to the board GAkawa! I too cut my teeth on my Versys- first time riding it was from the dealership to the house, 30 miles on the highway! Never flinched- love the bike. Sounds like you're off to a good start. Keep it up!

Brake adjustment

I can't seem to adjust the travel on my brake handle.. I've tried moving it from 1-5 and it doesn't seem to really change too much. It's a long reach for my short fingers any suggestions ?
