Versys Newbie

I bought my Versys a few weeks ago. I went to my local dealership to buy oil and filter for my Ranger and walked out with a bike too! I think it was a good deal also. 08 with 5000 miles for only $4000. What a great motocycle! I have been a Harley guy for many years and did not know what I was missing. I have also been busy with mods. Pirelli MT60's, engine guards, skid plate, hand guards, windshield, Givi luggage etc.. What a great ride!!! I have been lurking here for several weeks gathering info from various posts. All the information has been very helpful. I am now looking for a GPS and mount? Any suggestions?

I'll forgive you for being a Harley guy... Seems you have seen the light!! I ride with some of those Harley folk! They aint all that bad.

Two options come to mind for GPS mounting, there are more.

1. Ram Mount on handlebar (bought mine from amazon.com for $33)

2. Speedy's GPS Mounts. I don't have his mounts for GPS but have his flatfoot, lowering kit, handlebar risers and his quality is superb and he ships fast!

I still like certain things bout my Harley. Cruise control!! A few of my friends poked a little fun at me for the Versys purchase till I left them in the dust this weekend on a lunch run. After we arrived ALL of them were really curious bout the Versys.

On the GPS mount? It looks great! Very clean looking. Any significant vibration from normal road riding?

Cruise Control... Is that the best you can come up with?

No vibration at all. RAM makes great stuff. Very high quality.

Also, when you don't need your GPS, you can loosen the thumbscrew and quickly remove everything, leaving the ball mount on the bar.

PS, I have cruiser friends who drool over my Versys as well.

Not much help there. I have a Garmin 255W, a fairly cheap and not fully featured. I bought it a few years ago for the car and now it is used on the bike once in a while.
