Wink Moving on up/down to a Versys

Just bought my 2008 Sunday from someone in Chicago's southwest suburbs. Only 1,300 miles and it came loaded with all the listed mods. Have only done a couple of 30+ mile jaunts on it, but am already loving it. Looking forward to figuring out how the power commander works and getting at a piece of luggage to put on the givi rack. Never had a fuel-injected engine before, so I keep looking for the choke lever. All 6 previous cycles moved up in engine size from the last one (I started on a 1970 Honda CB-100), so this is a slight step backward from my Triumph Adventurer, but it's twice the fun and rideability so who cares?

Rooster,

Welcome to the forum. You are going to love the Versys and as you can see there is lots of help on the forum. I started (in another century) on a Honda 50. There were many years and not too many motorcycles in between. The Versys is the first FI cycle I have ridden as well.

Where in Chicago do you live? I live in Oak Lawn.

Doing the same move myself. Bought a 1200 Bandit last September and I found it boring anywhere but the freeway on ramp. Looked nice though. Wanted a corner carver\tourer in the 650\750 class and settled on the V. Looking forward to it. Welcome.
