Newbie from the UK

Just swopped my bike for an orange Versys.

First impression was 'what a pile of garbage' !

Picked the bike up in torrential rain and it scared the crap out of me on any sort of bend. Felt like it was going to slide at any time.
Tyre pressures were fine so that wasn't the problem.

Took it out the next day for a shakedown ride (nice and sunny ) and what a difference. Felt really good and great on the twisty stuff.

Only problem I found was the seating position. I feel as if I'm sliding down the seat and into the tank. I also feel that I should be sat about 2 inches further back than the seat allows ! I'm 6' 2" so that might explain that. Anybody else feel like this ?

Apart from this I think I made the right decision.

Part of my problem might be that I downsized from a 2009 M109r LE !!

Many people have the same complaint about the seat, as you do. Search around the forum and you'll find various solutions. New seats, seat pads, adding/removing padding to stock seat, etc.

Oh yeah and,

Probably a combination of wet roads and a strange bike. Been riding big cruisers for a few years and the position on the Versys is entirely different.

I came from 23 years of cruisers last year and have loved every minute. I have not looked back. With the fun I am having, I will never buy a cruiser again.
