Hey folks

Got my Versys 650L a week ago and already clocked 1000k's on the beast in winter, loving it to bits, being a tall lad i find it the perfect combination of fun and comfort i was looking for

First thing i upgraded was the screen, the stock one might be fine for the smaller lads but being over 6ft3 in gear i found the buffeting to be rather noisy (worse than off)

Bought a Givi Airflow and LOVE IT, redirects so much wind i can hear myself whisper at 110km/hr, in summer i think i'll have to remove the top section to get some much needed airflow to my face but in winter its a godsend

HEya..

Yes - we are following each other around it seems.....

Still tossing up what I am wanting - but the extra power of the Versys is certainly tempting. Not as if the extra weight of the bike is going to be a problem for me.

Love to purchase new - but think it would probably be a bad idea (also the fact that I really don't have that kind of cash hanging around). Would be interested in knowing how much you paid for the 2107 Versys - but couldn't figure out if there was a private message facility on the board (shot you PM @ CB500x).

May drive out to melton and have a look @ Matt Jones Motorcycles anyway. Not a long way to go from ALtona:-)

I think we can only message each other after the 48hr thing has passed to stop spammers

It will depend on what deposit you can put down but i went with finance under Matt Jones and it was very competitive, i had a trade in so that helped i guess, I'm paying around $50/week for essentially a brand new bike (ex-demo model <200km) with OEM fog lights installed on top (waiting on them to arrive in AU) that was after a 4k trade in and 2k deposit, over 3 years

I though as the min i need to ride a Lams bike was 3 years why the hell not, i spend about $50 a week on junk food so its my way of loosing weight, no money for junk food now HAHA

Not sure if replying to another thread on this forum counts as my 2nd post for the new spam rules so i'm posting this to be sure.

future mods that are on the books are:
Barkbusters VPS, most likely the dual mount
SW-M Rear Rack to assist in having soft luggage
DrySpec Luggage, prefer soft as i don't travel often and only need it for essentials
GPS mount and GPS, probably the behind screen mount
considering the Leo Vince Underbody exhaust
SW-M or Other crash bars
If no on the crash bars then probably oggy nobs

I've heard of Kiwi, but not Pom. What does that mean?

Welcome to the forum. My son and his wife have been living in New Zealand for over a year now.

Hope to get there and explore the country by motorcycle one day.

I believe that an Aussie is a 'pommy'.

Am I correct?

I believe that's only partially correct. I seem to remember that the entire phrase is "pommy bas*ard"

No insult intended to anyone, either Kiwi or Pom.

One theory was Prisoner of his Majesty, Australia was a convict colony where the mother country sent all the bad apples to live.

All Honda need to do now is put the 4 cyl CBR650F engine into a CB500X Frame and fork setup and i'll start throwing money at them.
