Hello from Toronto!

Hey all!

I just picked up a used 2007 V. I am looking forward to connecting with other V owners! As an avid DIYer, I love learning from others as well. Happy to be a part of this great community.

Welcome from Ottawa! You can download the service manual from the TECH section of this site. Make sure you have a pit stand to lift the bike for service and have installed 10mm sliders on the swing arm for this purpose. (2015+ bikes take 8mm sliders). Sliders are cheap on EBay.

There are spools installed on the bottom of the swing arm. Are the distances between spools standard? I see a lot of the rear stands don't seem to have any adjustability when it comes to where the spools are located.

My rear stands have pieces that move IN or OUT as required, then are "pinched" by a bolt to remain in place, and I have T-Rex and Harbor-Freight ones (the T-Rex are WAY-Y-Y better!).

Is that cardboard I see beneath Big Red? Does he have a tendency to piddle on your garage floor?

Well-l-l, sort of....

When I WD40 the chain I kneel beside the V on the small piece of cardboard, and SOMETIMES I get so excited that I "whiddle" all over the cardboard.... - -

What saddle bags are those? I've been trying to post in the main forum but do not have access yet. I have the OEM rack but no bags yet. I know the GIVI v35s PLX fit on there and the OEM saddle bags... but trying to keep the costs low! Nice setup!
