New old guy

Guess I better post up here have been posting in the Versys 300X page for a couple on days. I am a 68 year old retired from Wisconsin. Yes we are all cheese heads . I have owned more then 100 bikes over the years and also
had a motorcycle acc. store for 15 years before I retired. I bought my 300
ABS in Apr. and love it. I also have a 2013 Honda CB1100 and a PCX150
scooter.

Welcome from another 68 year old New Old Guy Cheesehead. While I have not looked at many of the 300X threads, I do sometimes think that it would probably be enough motorcycle for me, especially when my 650 gets to feel just a little too big and top heavy for me. ( I know Fast Eddie, I should work out more ). Will look forward to your remarks about your rig and comparison to your other motorcycles. CJC

Forty years away from 2 wheel fun. Sure is great to be back smelling the roses!!!

Hello and welcome.
Thanks for the good news that I should have another 20+ years of riding ahead, As I just realized 5 months after my birthday that I am 48.

MikeJ - your riding only STARTS in your 60's - at last you have enough time to hit the road.

Cheers

Welcome aboard young one. I'm feeling forced to remember being old again, thank you very much. I'm in the midst of my 72nd year but the good news is I remember being 68! Can't recall what I had for breakfast but no one's perfect. Then again, maybe breakfast just wasn't memorable.

I'd appreciate your thoughts on the 300 as you accumulate miles. I'm considering transitioning to something a bit lighter and lower to the ground. Upper body strength isn't what it once was and I'm inseam challenged and would much prefer to flat-foot whatever I ride. Beyond that, during the summer months I'm about 90 miles from the nearest Kawa dealer so first hand observations and test rides are a bit inconvenient. So, thanks for your input ahead of time.

Welcome to the forum

FYI it was a oversight when the X300 forum was added, luckily no spammers discovered it, however it caused some confusion for us mods as new posts were popping up all over the X300 forum. Restrictions are now in place for everyone.to the forum

Welcome!
This is a great forum. I love the positive review of the 300 from Fort Nine, check it out. Great reviews on general motorcycle stuff and other bikes as well. No, I don't get $$ from this! I am 66 and have been back into bikes the last 10 years, my wife and I ride a Can Am Spyder and love it. She is a disabled Vet (many knee surgeries) and is a bit afraid of getting on and off a regular motorcycle, and drives the Spyder with joy. I have a 650LT and love it, especially the mid weight size. I am stuck in Illinois and would love to move to Wisconson. Our son lives in Sheboygan and is a great ride from Grayslake. Enjoy! Check out my Facebook page for pics of my bike and modifications. Best!

BEST,
