Hello from Northern Colorado

Hi everyone - my name is Scott and I currently live in Greeley, Co. I just purchased a new 2017 Versys 650 last week and the plan is to use it primarily for 3-4 days trips around the state.

Looking forward to reading all the info people have to share on the forum.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! I've been lurking for about a year now since I bought my 2011.

Be sure to look up threads on "must have" farkles--in general people will suggest a 44-tooth rear sprocket, peg-lowering kits, and some sort of anti-vibration means, among many other mods.

I'm still on the search for the right slip-on exhaust for myself. I love everything about my bike except the sewing machine exhaust note from the OEM can.

Urban commuting in St. Louis City. I used to rip 70-miles/day on the Ohio interstate. These days, my Versys doesn't remember the last time it used 5th gear.

Welcome

I live in Summit County Colorado. Great riding in this state and I think you'll be very happy with your Versys. I ride a 2015 650 LT. Great on the twisties and sweepers and not bad on the interstate.

Do check the farkles. Here's my list. I've added a Givi D4114ST windscreen, Motowerk's handlebar extension and lowering kit, SW Motech crash bars and I put clear bra material over the lower half of the gas tank. You should check the motowerk.com website for some of these products. They have great stuff designed for the Versys.

Send me a PM if you're up this way and we can do a ride.

I used to be Cojacket on the forums now I'm BreckRider!

Welcome aboard. Can't say I've ever lived in Colorado but our daughter, son-in-law and family live in Bayfield east of Durango. Beautiful area.
