Welcome! You can download the service manual from the TECH SECTION of this site.

Suggest searching this site or posting questions if you are going to add any accessories as there is lots of info and experience on this site. Since you are getting back into riding highly recommend outfitting bike with tip over protection such as crash bars as they will pay for themselves when you drop bike on it's side.

My sister just moved into Littleton from Highlands Ranch. Our goal is to ride our bikes there hopefully next year.

Live in Aurora.

Definitely want to protect bike from tip damage.

Any advice on reasonably priced protection?

Thanks all!

Funny you should mention tip damage...

The SW Motech crash bars are expensive but worth every penny. ask me how I know...

I just read about some vendor having crash bars for the panniers - I'm trying to find those and will prolly add to the list.

Buy a footprint extender (or make a cheap one yourself) for the kickstand. I had mine sink into the asphalt on a 100 degree day here recently. It didn't fall over, but it was *very* close.

Buy a center stand. always had one, always will. tried jacks, slider nubs and jacks and it always came back to a center stand. worth the $$$ (your mileage may vary.)

That's all I can think of for the moment. there WILL be more.

I second that crash bars, can help in a slow speed rollover...
(I was putting my rear stand in place to adjust the chain, and it got away from me).

I also had a set of highway pegs on the bars, and they were extended. The right side peg took the brunt of the weight when the bike tipped over along with the handguard, and there was zero damage to plastics or paint. I had just installed a new set of LED lights on the crash bar, and the right side escaped unphased.
