Newbie from UK

Hi
Just in the process of buying a 2012 Versys 650, so looking to gain knowledge of this marque. Previously had BMW's but the 1200GS was just a tad too heavy for me (at 71yo !)
I live in Cumbria which has some of the best riding roads in the U.K. !

Welcome from the great states of Texas and Maine in the US of A. Transitioning from a 1200GS will make the Versys feel like a featherweight. Good choice (but then most of here are somewhat biased). Oh, I assume you have the right hand drive version. Not to worry, it handles as well as the left hand drive version.

Welcome! You can download the service manual from the Tech section of this site in PDF format.

There is a lowering kit that will make the bike easier to handle and lower the center of gravity. SW-Motech crash bars are recommended if you think there is a remote chance you may have a tip over.

More than likely need them as that's why the 1200GS went !
Thanks for the info.
