New Member in the Carolinas, seaching for a Versys 650 '15+

So apparently I have to have two posts here to get things started.

I don't yet own a Versys, but I test rode one, liked it, and am actively shopping for a 650.

Have one (a 2015+)?

Trying to decide if I want OEM or Givi cases. Trying to determine if center stand will work once lowered (conflicting info on this site).

I also have a '13 Triumph Bonneville T100 and a '10 BMW R1200R which the Versys will replace. Love the BMW, but getting a little tired of so much wind in the face. It's a naked roadster.

Welcome from Canada

to the forum, I bought Trekker cases and a Givi E56, some have complained of rattling issues with the LT cases and also the irregular shape limits what you can put into them. I am sure others will chime in shortly, as to the stand, some conflicting info, bottom line is it isn't a good idea. I have a prop stand write up in the How To forum, and can raise either the rear or the front wheel, on my rides, at home I have a front Venom stand and rear pit stand, plus a lift. Several have stated the T Rex is superior. I have updated that thread.http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...r-methods.html

Welcome. I tried to PM you but I can't - maybe you've turned it off? Or maybe new members can't receive Private Messages for a while?

I have the oem cases and I really like them. They are made by Givi, BTW. They are kinda small and awkwardly shaped, but I like how they fit the the bike so well. I use softbag liners inside the hard cases, which makes it easier to use all of the awkwardly-shaped space.

I tweaked my settings. Emails from members was toggled off (it's on now), but I don't see a setting option for PMs. I did receive a "welcome" PM.

What are the issues? It looks like both available center stands have a section that can be chopped and welded (less so with the Hepco & Becker) .

So how many posts do I need before I can share photos? It says...

To be able to post links or images your post count must be greater. You currently have 3 posts.

"Greater" is kinda vague, don't you think?

The cost is fairly high for something you need to modify and can only use on level surfaces, my prop stand cost about $25 if I include the cost of the spools, I will let those that have modified their bikes to accommodate the center stand to chime in here, FYI the cost of the stand is about what I paid for a hydraulic lift which is rated for 1000 LBS., which has had extensive use by me on both the 07 and 2015 bikes.

Hard to say as there have been spam filters installed that apparently could interfear with PM and posting pictures, some use tap talk from the very start and post, membership is 2 posts and 48 hours as stated in the introduction stuck thread, so either 5 posts or 10 posts for pictures. Comment in indicates 5

In my view these bikes are so inexpensive (performance & features per dollar), even after adding a Sargent seat, Madstad shield & center stand I feel like I'm way ahead of the game.

Or maybe I've just been riding BMWs too long.

Well, I've agreed to terms on a green '15 with 1,600 miles. It's a base model with gear indicator and aux power socket, in "showroom" condition -- $4,700. Shipping it in from 7 hours away. Prob won't have it until the middle of next month due to the holiday.

Gonna get some black Givi Trekker 33L side cases, hand guards and maybe a top box from Motostorm.it. Then I'll seek out a windshield, seat & center stand.

Excited!! Anyone have farkles to sell me?
