Hurricane Bob

Hi Everyone, been reading the forum for a while now. I had decided on a Versys 650 after moving and selling my 2003 Ninja 250 and doing a lot of research on this site and others. I did look at a 2009 Aprilia Shiver, nice bike but was a bit intimidating and did not want to turn without leaning at low speed, and then saw a 2009 Versys on Cycletrader from a local dealer. I rode it around the parking lot and then took her home. This bike rides like butter, and handles like a dream. She came with a bunch of farkles, including Givi hard panniers, tank bag, Rox handlebar risers, headlight modulator, add on rear LED turn signal and brake light, Nautilus horn(loud!), Sargent saddle, aftermarket windshield, and Leo Vince SK muffler. 8400 miles. Already changed the oil with synthetic, new air filter and spark plugs, and adjusted and lubed the chain. I am already guilty of cracking a beer and staring at her in the garage...

Nice looking bike. I love my Versys. As you said rides like butter and handles like a dream. You forgot to mention It's got punch.

Welcome, Bob - excellent choice!

What tank bag is on the bike? Looks like a tanklock mount - would you mind taking a couple shots of it? Thanks.

Hurricane Bob, welcome from Lake County, near Mount Dora. There seems to be about a half dozen folks in the upper-mid Flowriduh area.

Looks like "Bags Connection". I pulled the bags and brackets off as soon as I got the bike home. I'll use them when I do a road trip.

stock windscreen?

anyone out there have a stock 2009 windscreen that they are willing to part with? I have the 22" Cee Bailey screen and am thinking of cutting it down as I have tried every position, and also added rubber washers to the bottom to tilt it back, and still get crazy buffeting above 45 mph. I took the screen off and went for a ride and OMG! what a difference! Smooth, much quieter air! I would like to try a stock windscreen before cutting this one down...

BIG RED "lives" in AZ, while the GREEN HORNET TOO (that '09 'died', replaced by a '15) lives in BC.
