2013 in Mobile AL

I just bought a friend's 2013 white 14k mi with a few farkles $3k.

My last bike(YZF600R) and I played pinball with two trucks on the interstate 9 months ago and I am now sporting two titanium screws in my wrist.
My 3rd bike (8 years and many bikes ago) was a EX650R that I put 50k miles on so I am pretty familiar with the versys.

I like long walks at the beach, passing cruisers over the double yellow in blind 35mph zones and short jaunts through the woods on inappropriate bikes.
My dream ride for the Dragon would be a 1988 ysr50 2t.

I actually dont have a photo yet.... Bike is still in its previous owners garage...

Bike has mirror extenders, highway pegs (useful crash protection I guess), taller givi windshield and foot peg lowering tabs.
I'm probably forgetting a few things....

My previous bikes include Dr200, drz400s, dr650se, klr650, ex250R, EX650R, xt250, YZF600R, Aprillia sport city 250, YJ50 (vino 2T).... also likely forgetting some... oh CBR250R

doh.... Still waiting to be approved by mods.... so no pics or buying more goodies...yet

Um right ATGATT......oops say the scars on my butt and legs...
My recent crash happened on the first day of the summer that I didnt wear the armored leather pants... The alpinestars smx3 boots saved my feet from being pulped and went through the right side case... Jacket got cut off and helmet visor can be seen popping off halfway through my 90mph roll... Gauntlets are my friend

Ok a few pics of my bike are due....
I am swapping he front tire out today for a tourance and my breaker bar is indeed 5ft long...

I am adding it alongside a DL1000 and AN650

See the garage door has the stickers to a few past tire changes..
My 3rd bike was a precrashed 08 ninja 650 that I put 50k miles on.
But that was many bikes ago...

This front fork does not want to sit on the stand scary....

The YJ50 was one of my favorite steeds in suches, GA

This is what happened to my previous bike....

9months after playing pinball with two trucks on the interstate this is the result. Also my right foot hurts after running a few miles but that could be mostly unrelated....

two wheels of Suches is one of my favorite places. This year will be the first time to have my Versys up there (usually go on one of my Harleys)
I would like to hear any comments you can make on the givi windshield you have, as I have considered buying one.

Hah the bike has gotten a test drive only...
My brother (the prev owners roommate) drove it from Pensacola to Mobile for me on saturday and says it is nearly as comfortable as his years gone by Honda PC800.

I will update you on the screen next week.

PS suches is my Mecca.

I have to ask - did you loosen the "front axle clamp bolt" at the bottom of the right fork-leg first?

I BELIEVE that I've used a ratchet to remove the front axle EVERY time I've removed the front wheel, so IF you needed that "breaker-bar" I'll bet the clamp bolt hadn't been loosened....

Heh no, I removed it first. I did mention I owned the ninja 650 for 50k miles right?
Same clamp bolt on the right side.

It was so tight I did search the left side for the invisable 2nd clamp....
