Introduction

Just purchased a 2015 Versys 650 LT from a good riding friend of mine. 5,400 miles on the clock so virtually new. He just bought a 2016 Triumph Tiger and felt the two bikes were a little to similar. After 17,300 miles of riding on my 2015 Super Tenere and Honda NC700 I decided to go to one bike and downsize from the heft of the S10.

I sold both bikes fairly quickly and settled a deal with my friend on the Versys. He plans to add a 300cc BMW when they are in the showrooms to keep his Tiger company. With about 300 miles on the Versys I am very impressed. Few bikes have what I call "balance" across the board. The Versys is one of them with the right level of power, suspension, ergonomics, brakes etc.

I am in the process of setting it up to my liking and the Board as already been very helpful. I don't know how long the one-bike thing will work and there will probably be a T-120 Triumph Bonneville to keep the Versys company this year or next. At 68 I plan to enjoy my retirement on some lighter equipment putting on some miles.

Regards,

Ken (in Kentucky)

There is lots you can do the V to make it better - the one single change that I got the best bang for buck was stainless steel front brake lines.

Enjoy the bike.

Although I have had Miss Jaffa (Burnt Orange 2007 Versys) for a while, I still have a lot to learn.

Similar boat here. I'm down from three bikes to a '15 Versys 650 plus it's garage mate, this beautiful Bonneville T100 with Kineo tubeless spoked wheels. They complement each other well, but I'm thinking of selling off the Bonnie to try the one-bike thing.

By the way, I've test ridden the T120 and I think the older T100 is a better bike, especially after the supsension, wheel, seat & brake upgrades I've made. Give one a try. If you're ever near upstate So. Carolina you can try mine (if it hasn't sold yet).

What would a Bonneville as nice as yours sell for? That's a beautiful bike.

Welcome from a fellow Kentuckian. I just purchased my first Versys as well 2014 with 2458 miles on it. They are quite nimble compared to what I am used too. I have enjoyed it over the past week even though the weather hasn't wanted to cooperate. But hopefully that will change with the weekend

Guess you can say I'm in a similar boat, though I would like to have three bikes eventually. Looking at paying the Versys off and getting the project bike ( picture added below) fully operationally. Then I'll get a sport bike. I'll probably catch grief from my wife though. LOL

Welcome from San Antonio, Texas. Lived in Oh-H-10 some years ago just outside Columbus. Very scenic state in my opinion.
