New member, not so new owner

Hey everyone,

I just joined, though I've been lurking and benefiting from the knowledge base here for some time. My motivation for joining now is a few specific technical questions about the charging system that I'll get to once I have access to the proper areas of the forum...

I got my 09 blue Versys mid-2015. It replaced a 6th gen VFR, which was a great bike but nowhere near as endearing as the little 650. Before that I had a Yamaha Seca II, an SV650, a Buell XB, and several air cooled RD's. I find that the riding position is perfect for me and that the combination of just the right kind of power and super sharp handling makes the V the - almost - perfect bike for me.

I commute ~35 miles everyday in Roanoke, VA and I often take long solo trips, mostly to the coast. All in all, I've put 22k miles on the bike since I got it.

I look forward to getting to know you all and I hope I can add to the knowledge base that I've already utilized.

Mike

Let's get this post count up, shall we?

I noted that the Versys is almost perfect for me. I think that the bike would be perfect if Kawasaki would move over to a 270 degree crank arrangement and add a balance shaft, similar to the Yamaha FZ-07. That should kill the secondary vibrations that drive me nuts, make it sound a lot sweeter, and, possibly reduce the incidence of stator failures that I've read about here and encountered myself recently.
