New to all this

Hello all, I'm Robb and I have no idea what I'm doing yet. My daughter talked me in to becoming a member because she's tired of me reading all of your posts, and telling her about them. She says that I should "spread my wings" and talk to people who actually like and care about motorcycles.

Blue 2009 Versys 650

I bought my 2009 Versys last June. It had 11k miles on it and not a scratch. All service records/receipts were with the bike and it was better than new. This darned thing has become an obsession, and I have a million questions about aftermarket add-ons for performance and cosmetics. It's about 20 degrees outside now and snowing, so I'll be asking a lot of questions for the next couple of months. Thanks to all of you for keeping me informed and amused. I look forward to further conversations!!!

Welcome From Canada

to the forum, your daughter had a and I would say she is very smart , she possibly had a ulterior motive too, however, as a member you have full access to a wealth of information,

Let me tell you, I have said this many times before, I came from riding dual sport bikes, the last was a DRZ400S. When I bought my 07, it was late November 2008, heading into winter, come spring I rode it for about 3 months, almost sold it because of the lack of performance and the seat, got a Corbin seat and had been a member since November 2008, I heard about the vacuum hose mod and the throttle position mod by Invader, let me say moving that TPS turned the bike from a sluggish non responsive bike into a wild beast , like day and night. It was a tough decision to sell it in the spring of 2016, as I had it where I wanted it. My 2015 is just getting there now. Looked after, that bike expect to get 100,000 miles out of it.

Welcome. I am not sure what onewizard is talking about. I had to be careful not to wheelie my '11 Versys when taking off from a light, and caused a '14 Corvette to break lose on every gear change while trying to get ahead of me, but we only did this up to legal speeds.

aboard!

Here's the '09 I had (which I loved... till I wrote it off, crashing in the NWT!), and this pic was taken about 60 minutes before....

Now I replaced it w/ a '15 (and I have an '08 in AZ).
