I knew there were some Coggers Here, at least I hoped so! Nice to see y'all, it also helps me know what to expect of the versys owners and culture.
SteveJ.... hmmm.... HA! Steve and I go way back probably 12 years! I met him at a COG ride, and we have ridden many miles together. He IS a consummate motorcyclist in the finest sense, and I've learned much from him over the years. In fact I rode Steves versysLT 2-3 weeks ago, and that's what sealed my fate in being a versys owner. It's a bike that might not cause me to lose my licence, as opposed to my c-14. I think Steve told me about meeting you Greg, won't be long til I do, I'm sure.
I am still doing plenty of work on the c-10;s though Shoodaben went to a new home a year ago (I never thought I would do that) since I was riding the 2nd new to me c-14. I've done some work on it; suspension, pipe and ECU flashing and it's a very impressive bike. 160 hp with the pipe. My license is always in danger when riding the c14!
As far as Versys improvements... well the bike will need to "talk" to me first. I don't do stuff just to "do" it. If / when I find an area I want to improve on, I'll address it then, for now I'm just getting acquainted. I have to be honest, it's nice to be able to ride a bike that lets me relax a bit. Fast enough to keep from being run over, but not begging to break the sound barrier. Light enough to not require work to move it around. High enough to scrape the clouds... HMMM, not sure that one is gonna stay... anyone have a leg stretcher I can borrow? Steve
