My first Versys

Hi everyone from Alabama,

I picked up a 2013 Versys 650 a few days ago with only 2400 miles on the clock. I've put 1000 additional miles on the bike with a couple of oil changes and am very surprised that the only soreness I've experienced is my bum.

First gear is a blast with little effort while the middle range is great for all day touring, and the top end is peppy enough for screaming out of corners or passing cars on the slab. I gotta say I'm impressed with the overall experience it provides.

Thanks everyone for compiling all the great tips and information on this bike, again I'm impressed.

Welcome to the fold Yeah, the OEM seat leaves a lot to be desired. Fortunately there are many aftermarket options to resolve the issue.

It is probably the best all round bike I have ever ridden.

Steve

I bought a motorcycle because my wife said that I couldn't! Now I have two and she still says I can't have another one!

Thanks for the welcome. After riding a few other all-rounder bikes this one had my name on it. Ordered a Seat Concepts cover to install ASAP, other than that I'm just gonna ride it as is. Luggage will eventually be ordered, but I'm keeping the engine oem for long hauls.

Only problems I have found were a missing headlight spring clip and screw and a weeping water pump, that seems to affect a lot of these motors. Already have the new o rings and seals on order and a repair manual. I love how simple the pump is with o rings instead of gaskets.

I have no reservations about riding it to Alaska and back.

Welcome, you will have to ride up and say hi to AlaskaJeff.
Sheepskin seat pad (without gel) also adds to seat comfort.
