2015 650 lt

New to the forum. Just bought a new (2015) 650 LT. Waiting for the snow to melt (central WA state). 1st addition will be crash bars - pickins for 2015 model are slim, but some good feedback on what's available on the forum.

Congrats on your new bike. I'm a new Versys owner and forum member too. Also new to crash bar shopping but I've done a lot of research on crash bars. From what I can tell, it comes down to how sturdy you want them to be. Givi and SW Motech appear to be the ones used most. Givi's are lighter and less expensive and seem to do the job just fine when needed. Motech's are sturdier, easy to install and about $100.00 more. I went with Motech because $100 more for the sturdiest bars seems worth it to me. Crash bars just aren't an extra I wanted to compromise on. So that's my humble opinion. I'm sure others on the forum will have much more experience with different types and options.

aboard!

I too am looking for crash-bars for my 2015. I've seen an ad for some from the SE Asia area that look pretty sturdy, but can't re-find the ad just yet....

Dimotiv crash bars on ebay - 2015 model price seems to have gone up quite a bit compared to earlier model years.

Dimotiv Engine Guard for Kawasaki Versys 650 2015 | eBay

SW Motech look OK, single bar protection unlike the others. Hepco Beck product looks good, too.

There are others like Givi who make crash bars for earlier years.

There's still snow on the ground here. I will wait to see what else shows up in the next couple months. Keep you folks posted if and when I do.

I put Hepco & Becker crash bars on mine. I haven't seen other bars in person so I have nothing to compare them to. I bought them because the SW-Motech bars were out of stock for quite a while and the H&B bars were on sale at Moto Machines. They're solid, look good, and appear as though they'll do what they're supposed to in the event of a crash.

Been doing some research and found a company in Germany that makes some nice looking crash bars - Fehling. Anyone have any experience with them? Communicating with them through email is pretty slow. I'm waiting for tech. and cost info. from them, will post when available. They are looking for a US company to sell their product.
