Hi i just been looking round my new Versys and discoverd a potential storage cupboard ,its located to the left of the petrol tank, between the tank and fairing panel .
I was thinking of storing my lightweight waterproofs in here .
Any one on here done this ?
Any valid reasons not too ?
wouldn't it be a pain in the @$$ to access it on a regular basis?...I could see storing something in there such as emergency equipment....but u would have to take out 4 or 5 screws each time to get in there wouldn't you?..good idea though....:thumb:
I checked this one out yesterday and there is quite a bit of space up there. If you were to stuff your rain gear in there it might work. I didn't see any issues with heat or electrical. Just want to make sure it didn't work it's way out again. Might be a good spot to put a box for tools or spares - again have to find a way to keep it in place like a rubber strap across the opening.
A neat idea...should be some decent space under there. I think the right-hand side contains the coolant reserve tank, so maybe a little less storage there.
I wonder if a guy could swap out the bolts that hold the fairing on for some 'quick release' fasteners...could make for a little easier access. I found these:
I like the idea of having a storage pouch or something in there that could be unzipped or opened from above or below, to hold things that don't get used very often. Like a tire repair kit or a first air kit or a... Rainsuit.
I'm going to use that spot on the left cowl for a tire repair kit.
