Skyline Drive this am

No one in site. I had the road to myself and the most enjoyable ride in weeks. Crisp and cool in the mountains while it was muggy and sticky down below. I was on it by 8am and did not see another car or bike til almost 9:30!

Nice pictures. I was just there three days ago and we really had no time except to drive a cage along the drive. I thinking after our short jaunt in Virginia itself, we are going to plan a trip to spend four or five days just in the Shenandoah Valley and riding up and down the Blue Ridge and Appalachian mountains.

There is a lot to see, and many good roads. Skyline is very nice, but allowable speed is pretty low. Route 211 (about midway) is very scenic. I would suggest also going into Harpers Ferry (route 340) and Gettysburg (route 15) are great road trips.

If you go to Harpers Ferry there is a fantastic breakfast place behind the Welcome center off of 340 - across from a high school and next to a graveyard. Very small, but very good.
