Are the only trees the ones planted beside the roadways? Why don't they plant trees everywhere, they will burn down? Call me a Georgia Cracker, but I like trees in the mountains. That is something that is hard to get used to out West and takes a little incentive away from driving in the mountains here (no trees to pee behind!)
In the Southern Appalachians, every time you ride down a highway, it looks different in different parts of the season: like it's the first time you have been there. They are living breathing mountains - very comforting while riding on your bike.
