Angles Crest Hwy 7 28 2015 Videos

Got onto Angeles Crest Hwy just before 8am headed to the Grizzly Cafe in Wrightwood for breakfast. Road was closed about 10 miles or so before Wrightwood so headed back down. Lots of squirrels running around the roads and one coyote ran across on the way down.

Are the only trees the ones planted beside the roadways? Why don't they plant trees everywhere, they will burn down? Call me a Georgia Cracker, but I like trees in the mountains. That is something that is hard to get used to out West and takes a little incentive away from driving in the mountains here (no trees to pee behind!)

In the Southern Appalachians, every time you ride down a highway, it looks different in different parts of the season: like it's the first time you have been there. They are living breathing mountains - very comforting while riding on your bike.

Yea the fires have taken a lot of the trees. You can see in the one section before Newcombs Ranch that got torched good last year.
