Global warming, Ha!

Here is what my driveway has looked like for over a month. Rare for this area.

On the bright side, my hugger is installed.

I have been saying the same thing about global warming lately. Record cold all across the country. We got 5-6" more snow here last night. It does make that green Versys look sharp though. I just went out and looked at my red one and shake my head. Be another 3-4 months here before i can ride. Life in the Midwest. I see Cycle world had a good write up on the Versys and not one bad thing to say about it really long term bike. Around here they don't understand how good that bike is. Dealer doesn't even have one on his floor for this year. Idiots Have fun soon on yours.

The weather in the Phoenix has been quite nice, lack of rain being the exception.

Here in the last two weeks I've been out and about at every opportunity.

We are headed into Round 4 in the last 3 weeks here. 6-12" new white sky crap tonight and tomorrow. Still got 8" of crust Round 1 and another foot of fluff from Rounds 2 & 3 on top of that. Snow shovel is becoming a new appendage...SUCKS.

Green V looks VERY sharp!

Global warming means temperature extremes, not just hot weather. Dang it, wish I got the green Ermax.

I just came across this video refuting 'global warming' as being caused by man. Done by the man who started the "Weather Channel", a meteorologist for 55 years. Check it out:

Snowing in Nevada ??? .........and you give us Canadians a hard time .

For the record , they don't call it global warming anymore ( because it's just a lie really or at least still debatable ) .....these days you have to say climate change ...............got that ................Climate Change . This way no matter what happens they can say , see ............it's changing ............................pay money ................billions and billions . Record heat in the arctic , ice shelf melting but snowing in Nevada , Maybe we are ruining the planet , maybe were just still coming out of the ice age . No one actually knows ..................the only thing for certain is we will kill ourselves off , long before we kill the great mother . Anyway , back to motorcycles ............

Cliff,
When I first saw the pic, that looked like N Nevada. Fernley, Elko, Winnemucca or somewhere about the same latitude maybe?? I grew up in northern Nevada. Anyway, hope it melts soon!! Not looking good for the next week or two though!

regards, Bob

It was 12F in Atlanta this morning! Coldest weather in 20 years. It is funny listening to people complain about the local cities not having snow removal equipment...but I bet they don't want to pay more taxes to buy it and watch it rot in a parking lot.

Yes the US and Canada are family!!! (At least the English speaking part!)

MotoCop...I didn't think that bikes and snow played well together!!!

Steve

I bought a motorcycle because my wife said that I couldn't! Now I have two and she still says I can't have another one!

Right now the UK is 'benefitting' from lots and lots of snow, there was a satellite photo published recently whch shoowed virtually all the country as a white out.

like your comment about Atlanta, we have ahd a rash of peopel claiming why oh why can't the local authorities grit their roads, comapring the UK to Scandinavia where they have snow regularly for months at a time.

as you sagely point out, very often these are the same people who campaign against local authority taxes. as I'm quite happy to point out, this is the first time for around 30 years there has been this amount of snow around in my area. weather forecasters point out the last time the country had this much snow was 1963, and 1948 before that.

it has meant the bike is off road and staying so

however in my books it would be foolish to claim the presence of snow indicates that global warming doesn't exist. global warming is more a generic term garnered by the media. in my books there has been significant enough change in the climate ti indicate that something is changing. whether that change is instigated by man or other factors I don't know.

theres enough evidence to suggest that UK average temperatures are rising, theres anecdotal evidence that flowers are blooming/growing earlier.

Apparently I've already been reported to the RSPCV (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Versys's), but not having a garage the bike's got to stay outside, and I remain to be convinced that covers are a good idea in the UK

The climate changes. Yes Virginia, there have been a couple of ice ages and a couple of tropical ages and everything in between. There were even dinosaurs at one time and ape-like ?people?. All of our mechanisms, worries and efforts will not change the planet as much as a hurricane, volcanic eruption, or a solar flare. So what am I getting at? Adapt. In another 100 years there will be another whole new group of people. Enjoy life, it is way to short to be consumed by all the hyperbole.
