My 2013 Versys

Been wanting to show mine off for a while, but wanted to wait for some pics that were worthy of posting. So here we go. A friend of mine and I decided to hit up "The Snake", US 421 yesterday. It's not too far from either of our homes, and is one of my favorite local rides.

Nice. Thanks for posting up photos with decent lane position. I always have a laugh when riders want to show off their riding photos and they are over the yellow line.

I can't stand to see a rider, or a car for that matter over the line! Even the last pic I posted I thought was a bit questionable. Didn't seem that close to center as I was riding, and it really may just be the angle of the pic.

Nice. A couple years ago I rode US 421 from around Boone NC, all the way to Richmond KY. It is one amazing road!

Great pics.

Always trust your cape.

Nice. If your side bags were any bigger you'd be dragging them.

I was looking at that exhaust too. I like the look of the shorty Delkevic, but I am afraid it'll be too loud. How loud is yours? any videos of before / after? I found some of the shorty 8'' but it was on a SV 650, and its sometimes hard to tell on a video unless they have a before / after.

I ordered the Mini 8, took one look at it and call Janielle at Delkevic. It's way too small, straight through and the baffle is perforated so it won't help to lower the DBs. We did an exchange, sent back the Mini and got the Tri-Oval. Not as nice looking as the Leo but $205 shipped. Installed like dream, fits way solid on the bike, much better than I expected. It's loud (baffle in). At idle no big deal but throttle it and you get a sharp low pitched growl that sounds similar to a Ducati track bike. No diff in ride, no vibrations, backfiring, downshift issues, etc. Very light weight, looks good to me from every angle. Everyone likes it better than the stock pipe. It was loud when I first rode it but later that evening I took a ride with my half helmet on to better judge the sound levels. Did a 30 mile loop, street, two lane highway, freeway and went though an industrial complex so I could hear the sound reverberate. The way I feel now - if you paid me to reverse it, I wouldn't. Maybe not for everyone but I think it's going to be perfect for what I was looking for from an inexpensive slip-on. Pretty happy with it at this point. Videos won't really give you a good idea, I listened to so many of them, you just have to take the plunge.

Im relatively close deals gap and "the dragon" as well, but i would much rather ride 421. Far less crowded.

Nice. We have Hocking Hills here lots of twisty bit to ride. BUT some are a bit beat, 421 looks a lot better cared for.

Or was that look THEN leap?
