SF and Back

My first update from the road. I left SF @ just before 10:30 this am after some prayers for a safe and fun trip.

I made it just about 2 hours on the super slab before my first break for lunch in the lovely little town of Davis, near Sacramento, CA. I'm heading up 80 before turning off @ 49 around Auburn & heading up to Sierraville.

The weather leaving sf was picture perfect, but off course as I head inland the temps rise. Wishing I had some mesh gear right about now. But I know I will be grateful to have my regular gear later on in the trip.

So, why am I posting in the middle of a beautiful day? Well my prescription sunglasses broke at my first stop. Luckily I got them at Site for Sore Eyes, a franchise out here in Cali. Luckily one of the stores on my route has a pair of frames that will work with my lenses and they're under warranty. So that's the first adventure, getting new glasses frames...not very exciting...but there u have it...btw, every site for sore eyes I've been to has been fantastic. Folks have always been friendly and helpful.

Pics will come when I get somewhere worth taking photos and when I have reception.

Sorry for the lack of posts...

I'll keep it brief...

Some shots of my hike up to Cinder cone. A volcano in Lassen national park that erupted in like 1600. It's been a fun trip so far with the exception of bike problems, but then it wouldn't be an adventure if everything went smoothly. I did abt 8 miles on a gravel road. A first for me. Dolores did fine and I'm grateful that motorcycles are really good at keeping themselves upright. Just relax and let her do her thing and it was all good.

The ride through the national forrests have been amazing. I snapped a few vids from my phone, but will have to upload those once I'm back.

I'm staying put for the next week & probably won't update here, but I'll likely update on my mini crisis thread...

Cheers!
