Talking made some new friends today

I was able to join a friend from work on a ride with the Yankee Beemers group here in New England for BMW owners and fanatics. I had a blast. The whole group was very welcoming of a newbie and many had great things to say about our beloved Versys. I live near Danbury CT and started out with my buddy at 7am. We took off in the rain and spent the chilly 2.5 hour ride on the interstate (mostly) to meet in Orange MA. The weather improved all day but never made it above the mid fifties.
When we arrived at the meeting spot almost the entire group of 40 or so riders welcomed me at one point or another and asked questions about the Versys. They broke into three different rides, one spirited, one dual sport, and one scenic. I took the scenic ride to a seasonal restaurant called Goulds Sugar Shack. Some of the best pancakes and syrup I have ever eaten.
We spent the rest of the day taking some back roads through MA, CT, and NY. I saw, and drove over a few, covered bridges took the Versys on a dirt road for the first time and watched my more experienced buddy smoke me in the twisties. And i saw my first Versys in the wild ever! All in all a great day.

Sounds like a great ride! Some of the best food is shared with friends on a group ride. I think the company improves the meal.

Garage
Sounds like you had a great time ... I, on the other hand, got to look at the snow we still have.

Glad you got a fun day out with the Yankee Beemers. You could learn a lot hanging with those folks.

Sounds like a really nice ride, I've always liked the back roads of CT.

Nice... I miss my time in New England.
I spent a few hours at a BMW dealer's open house last week along with a Beemer friend of mine... and my V also got a good bit of attention.
