Aizona - Superstition Mountains

Got up early Sunday morning, grabbed the camera and headed out on the Versys. My favorite thing to do!! Headed toward the Superstion mountains from Mesa. Arizona is an awsome place to ride this time of year!

Yeah, your right, wish I would have had more time to make it to Roosevelt Dam. Only made it to the start of the dirt portion of the Apache Trail.
Next time for sure!

Do you have a route for your ride? It looks like a fun ride.
I plan to ride from Minneapolis to Mesa next week and then spen about 10 days with my parents then ride home. I would like to do some riding in the Mesa/Pheonix are while I am there.
Oh and its snowing here now and the roads are getting very slick. No riding today.

Paul - WHEN you do, just west (one mile or so) of the paved road that goes down (north) to the marina on Apache Lake, there's a sign on the south of 88 for a 'ranch-road' (sorry I don't recall its name) heading south. It's about 2 or 3 miles of dirt "single-lane-and-a-bit", rises another couple 1,000 feet to a set of trail-heads, but with an imposing view down to the lake, and back towards the Fish Creek Hill.

GREAT place to stop for a lunch break!

It has taken me far TOO long, but here's a picture of that "great-place-to-have-lunch" I mentioned in the early post.... (Along with my riding buddy on a B1200S w/ sidecar.)

Thanks for the tip Eddie, I will definitely make the stop next time I hit the Apache trail. Looks like a great view.
