What bike are you coming from ?

Was wondering how many of you had a KLR AND Versys, were coming from a KLR or had nothing to do with the KLR

I had an '08 KLR, went to a '05 FJR 1300. The Thumper was to heavy for
narrow dirt road riding (now have a KLX250S). The FJR was much more of
a bike than I needed. The Versys fits my every day street riding needs.

replaced an sv1000s with the Versys. After seeing more about the KLR on this site and what it can do, I may want to add a good used KLR down the road, but I think the Verys will be with me for a long time.

Had the KLR with the Versys for almost a year. Neighbor needed a larger bike than his klr250 to commute 60 miles one way so I sold him the KLR650. Then this past fall I got the KLX250S.

I think the 250 complements the Versys better than the KLR650 did. The Versys still does shortest distance on the GPS so it handles gravel and dirt roads, but will never go off road.

A KLR?!? I heard that they don't run right, unless you install a ThermoBob on it.

I BELIEVE I was the FIRST guy to put a Thermo-Bob onto a KLR, AND then onto my Versys's when Bill developed it for the V (BOTH have T-Bobs!), as I have known Bill for quite some time. He's an engineer, and a craftsman. Either "Hot Rod Magazine" or "Car Craft" has run a few stories on his '65 Mustang Fastback (that will run in the 10s in the quarter...!).

Cool Dude!

I rode a KLR for about two years while owning my AZ V, then got a "helluva" deal on a left-over '09, and couldn't pass it up. The V's BETTER - IMHO!

Had a '02 KLR650 C model for 6 years prior to the V.

Some days I miss that bike, but then I twist the throttle on the V...
