Versys on racetrack w/ Michelin PR3

Last month I went to Londrina, Paraná, a city located about 600 Km southwest of my hometown in Valinhos, Sao Paulo - Brazil, to try my 2011 Versys on a racetrack. Bought the bike from a friend 8 months ago and put some 15.000Km on its odometer. Nice bike, strong and reliable engine, very smart at exiting corners. Touring is fine, three hard cases fully loaded and two-up riding is a piece of cake, easy to keep 140-150 Km/h cruising speed, despite the gas consumption. But on the racetrack...

...what a bike! Fitted with Michelin Pilot Road 3 rubbers (even after 10.000Km riding on them), the Versys was simply brilliant. After properly heated, these PR3 gave me lots of grip, despite the fact that the day was sunny and the tarmac was completely dry and hot. After 10 to 20 laps to get used to the circuit (low speed, almost 3,5 Km long, 5 left-handed and 2 or 3 right-handed turns), I was confident enough to swing the body off, throwing the bike effortlessly into the corner and and dragging my knee without hesitation. After the apex, the Versys simply jumps off and begs for the next corner. No more chicken strips

The only change I will make is the fork oil, from Motul to Motorex race spec, to reduce the diving at hard breaking. Of course the racetrack is not the "home" for Versys, but this bike is surprisingly competent there. There are better tires for the track, of course, but these PR3 are just grat, durable and give very good grip.
