AIN'T it sunny here in AZ...!

Yesterday I decided it was time for a ride, but I needed to be home early for a meeting, so my camera was around my neck till I could ensure I had time for pics AND getting to the meeting: forecast hi was 74F, sky clear, so I hit the road at 0940, heading N on AZ 79 to join AZ 60 towards Globe. From just 'short' of Superior to near Miami there was road-construction happening.

I had initial concerns that I might NOT have time to stop for pics, so I just kept 'putting on miles' until I was on AZ 188 going N from Globe, and watching for the turn to AZ 288 - the road to Young - W/ NOT a cloud in the sky!!! That's Roosevelt Lake in the distance, and FOUR PEAKS just above my windshield in the distance!

This is the bridge across the Salt River where it comes into the lake.

And THAT is where I was headed!

In the next 30 miles I would climb to about 6,500'ASL, and NOT a cloud in sight!!!

I rode UP till the road turned to dirt, then turned around - NOT because of the dirt, but rather my commitment to go to THAT meeting at 1700, then started DOWN knowing how much time I had to take more pics!

Nearing the bottom of that hill the road turned more to the S... and there was the ONLY cloud I saw ALL DAY!, but it did stay nice.

Back on AZ 188 heading S there's a hill (on the left w/ a cave near its top)

that I've ALWAYS wondered about....

Once past Globe, heading S on AZ 60 I started to see wild flowers,

and just up the hill from Superior back into road-construction.

I filled-up at Superior, then "lit-the burners", arriving back home about a half hour later, the ride was 182 miles, and I was ON TIME for my meeting!

Gotta love the lovely blue winter skies of Zona.

That narrow paved road looks to be in pretty good shape.

Unlike the totally beat up roads I was on yesterday.

My back is a bit sore today as a result.

2015 V-650 of course it's green...it's a Kazawalski.
