Short Day Ride

Took a short ride up to Shaver Lake on mostly smooth roads. First ride after back surgery 2 months ago.

Felt really good to be back on the trusty V-650. Have to admit it was a bit terrifying being afraid of hitting a big bump and jacking up my recently repaired back. All went well but I think I will give things a bit more time before riding again....well if you know me that will probably be next week...Lol.

Still not happy with the result of the surgery as the numbness in feet and butt are now waaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse than before the surgery. Talked with the surgeon last week. After looking at my recent MRI he said there was still a lot on inflammation and I needed to give it another 2 to 3 months before drawing any conclusions. I hope he is right and things will get better.

Stay tuned...news at 6.

Great to read you were able to get on the bike and ride. Anything close to your regular routine does wonders for both the body and spirit. Keep the faith brother. Not everything cures itself overnight. You had a traumatic procedure done to your body. Not to mention our bodies do not heal as rapidly as they used to. Don't push it and continue on with any other therapy that would be beneficial to the healing process. One day at a time.

It's been swell, but the swelling has gone down.

Take it easy and give it time to heal. My little brother had his right hip replaced last month and 2 weeks later he decided to take his kids to 6 flags....Needless to say i always knew my brother was a dumbass....

I never ride without one as I have seen a friend who drop riding due to kidney problem. He never used a kidney belt and did know one till I told him. After sometime he was back on bike and still riding with kidney belt always on.
