Every year I attempt to get lots of pics of flowers here to share w/ you "inmates" before I head back N to BC, and yesterday was a PDG day to do just THAT!
I left home about 1100, heading S on AZ 79 to then turn E onto the Florence-Kelvin Hwy. Dirt starts about 15 miles (or so...) E, but I turned S earlier than that, at 10 miles, onto the Barkerville Rd for 15 miles, then back W on the Freeman Rd (ANOTHER 15 miles) to AZ 79.
I can just imagine what those two dirt roads were like during the rains, so I took a couple of pics of what the now dry
ruts are like, and of a 'desert denizen' making his way S across the Freeman Rd... hope you like! I ALWAYS enjoy seeing diamond-back rattle-snakes - this one was about three feet long, but as you can guess - I wasn't about to try to measure its length
It was a VG day to go riding (aren't they ALL?
), but the majority of the flower pics I got were on the verges along the various paved roads, altho' I DID get another hill-side of poppies along the Barkerville Rd.
All-in-all I rode for four hours, 140 miles, and had a pretty good day, the temp getting to 87F...!
