The forecast for yesterday here in Florence, AZ, was 35F over night, followed by a daytime high of 70F, so I planned for a dirt-ride, HOPING that all the 'wet' from the rains we had over the last few weeks would dry up - "dirt-roads" around here become IMPASSABLE
when wet, [or even damp] at least as far as motorcycles are concerned.
IF you've seen my ride-reports over the years, this'll ALL be familiar, but here was my route anyway: from home via E on the Hunt Hwy and S on AZ 79 thru Florence to the Florence-Kelvin Hwy which heads E a few miles S of town, then to the Barkerville Rd about 15 miles E of 79, then S on it to the Freeman Rd, maybe 20 miles (dirt!), and E on IT another 20 miles (dirt!) to the San Carlos River, thru it, then into Dudleyville, and HORROR OF HORRORS - pavement
on AZ 77 N to Winkelman. Another left turn there onto AZ 177, then after 20 miles - back onto dirt
E on the Florence-Kelvin Hwy, and W to AZ 79, and a reverse of the first bit of today's ride, back to home.
W/out further 'ado' - this is heading S on the Barkerville Rd....[unfortunately this trip did NOT 'rustle-up' any long-horn cattle where I usually see some.]
At the STOP sign I turned E onto the Freeman Rd passing the old "Barkerville" site, then continued E....
(the geography of this rock-face was kind of interesting...)
...and the ride continues....
