60 Degrees and the Annual Eloy Ride
Temps have cooled off a little here in the desert. But, we have an annual tradition of riding our motorcycles from Tucson to the sky diving airport in Eloy (about 50 miles away). They have a Christmas Boogie that attracts jumpers from all over the world. Four of us regulars went and had great weather - cool, but very clear. Got there to see lots of diving and landings. We even saw an elf come in for a landing. Not sure if she jumped from a plane or Santa's sled? This year we had lunch at the on site restaurant and it was quite good. Just counter service, pick it up when they call your number. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich - ah, Muy Caliente!! Also delicious. We went to watch more diving, but your neck can only take so much (see picture of 3 of us, me in the middle). So we headed back with the required stop at the DQ at Picaccho Peak. The weather was turning cooler and windy and I made it home just as a few drops of rain fell on my helmet shield.
Forty years away from 2 wheel fun. Sure is great to be back smelling the roses!!!
