Sierra Pass Heaven

Just got back from criss crossing the Sierras. 900 miles in 3 days. Sonora Pass, highway 108, on day one, then skirt Lake Tahoe and up to Truckee for the night.

Day two blasted up the 89 to the 70, aka Feather River Parkway. Wonderful road with great scenery. Dropped all the way down into the valley for some lunch in Oroville. After lunch it was highway 20 thru Grass Valley and then the 80 back to Truckee. Bout 370 miles this day which was the longest. The 20 is a most delightful road.

Day three was the ride back home to Fresno. Went over the Ebbetts Pass, highway 4, then down thru gold country on a variety of roads and highways due to the 49 being closed. This is my first trip with cell phone on the bars and using Google Maps for navigation. Man this is a GREAT help. Don't know how I got along without it for so long. Don't leave home without it.

Grabbed a few pics to document the ride. I hope ya'll enjoy them.

Great photos and great scenery. I like your traveling style- all you need for three days in a duffle lashed to the bike. Well done sir!

Nice. Didn't know this forum would let you attach 32 photos. Some of the forums I visit only allow 2 and only allow 8 image links.

Yes but I need to get Fast Eddie to school me on how to write a caption for each photo. I am not that sophisticated with a key board yet.

IF you attach the pics INTO the body of your post (pics 'hosted' either on this Forum, or...wherever...) you can only add up to 20 INCLUDING any "Smilies", but by using "Drag Files Here to Attach!" you can add many MORE!

Most of your ride posts you have commentary (caption) between the pics. I would like to do this too but can't figure out how.

I can fly a jet but cannot operate a bike forum...Lol. So guess I will have to plead the Gump... "Im not a very smart man but I know what love is."

Great photos! You were playing in my beautiful backyard. When I moved to the Sacramento area for work in 2000 and discovered the Sierra nearby, I had to get a bike ASAP. Stunning scenery and biker heaven. So you couldn’t ride down 49? Coulterville to Mariposa is awesome, known as the Mini Dragon.

Tim - basically you...

write: I was riding E

when the LEO took interest in me

and we pulled over to "chat"....

HOPE this is clear that I do NOT caption pics, I just put the pics into the writing where they should be.

We call it the snake, cuz it is. Great road, unfortunate it is closed due to the road being washed out by a spring storm.

Probably won't be open til fall.

Like Eddie said. Also 60 photos which is the maximum number in a album on this site, and a maximum 18 albums in the Gallery.

So the short story, follow directions, I see you have albums, open any photo, there are two lines of text below each photo, the bottom one is BB code, what you do is copy the BB code, so have two browsers open, one with the photo gallery, the other with your post. Paste the copied BB code exactly where you want it in your text, usually I hit enter twice to give more space. That is it, usually the first browser is my new message and the second one is the gallery. To Find all your albums, hit user CP on the left under user control panel, the heading Networking click on Pictures & Albums that will find all your albums.

Thanks Wizard. After making my comment I decided to search the site and found the instructions. Then made a new post with my newly discovered skills...Lol.

Here is the finished product.
