Finally got myself a Versys...

After a few months of on and off looking for a Versys I have finally bought myself a nice shiny orange 2009 mk1 tourer with ABS that has only done around 1700 miles.

So needless to say it is in first class condition and cleaned up a treat after I spent the day cleaning & detailing and removing all the dead insects from my 190 mile journey home from the north of England to Scotland.

Here's a few pics...

Very nice- love the orange. Scotland is the only place in the UK I haven't been- so post up some ride reports!
Is the ABS standard or optional on that bike new? we can't even get it here-

I'm surprised that Kawasaki don't offer the ABS option over there. Would seem like a crazy move as if a safety feature is available in one country it should be available to all. I've ridden a bike without ABS and the front brake felt much softer. I remember one of the reviews saying the ABS option seemed to improve the front brake set up overall.

Some stunning scenery over here and quiet unspoiled roads once you get into the highlands. I don't have any pics of bike rides but I have these pics from when myself and my mates all hired Caterhams for the day. Was the best day out ever, never stopped grinning from the moment we sat in the cars. A total blast and an awesome experience. If you ever make it to Scotland you should make sure you set a day aside to do this...

I'm not a big fan of the MRA higher screen. I do like it as the higher Vario version they offer with the little spoiler attached. That is the screen I really want for the bike.

I've just sourced a 2nd hand standard clear Versys screen and fitted it to the bike. I think it's a cleaner design but not had a ride to check how it works with turbulence. If we were in the same country I would have done you a deal on the screen!

Welcome! Would red squares make it more Scottish?
First orange one I've seen, I like it.

As I said earlier on in the thread, I'm not a big fan of the MRA touring screen that was fitted to the bike. I think when the standard screen is fitted the front end looks much 'cleaner'. I've had the bike out for a run and couldn't really notice any difference in buffeting over the touring screen. Check out the bike with the standard screen here...

The colour of my bike is pearl wildfire orange which was a UK option in 2009.
