One of the Charlies Angels is riding a Versys

We have just finished our annual local club small rally called the globetrotter where riders have to tape instructions to lunch and rally site destinations to their fuel tank and winners are rewarded by a formula of point by finding various clues on route, riding exact Kms and a pre set road legal speed ( I have always been penalised for going to fast). Most rallies you ride to a known site but this one is kind fun as you have to ride to a mystery place but is never more than a 160km ride from where we always start in our home town

In previous years I have always road the versys and my wife her Suzuki C50 Cruiser but since Cruiser is sold and we have a ninja 1000 in its place my lovely wife (mrskiwi 41) decided to take the versys and form an all women team called charlies angels for the event. I took the Ninja 1000 and found another couple of guys to form our team.

Standard leaving home photo.

Meeting up with other two angels with attached wings.

Briefing before ride starts, riders head off at 1 min intervals.

My friend in this photo is a member here and has a brand new green V coming in oct but today he is riding his 250 cc hornet.

Mystery lunch stop at a old hotel at studholme

After lunch my wife ready in line to take off.

Helmet throw.

The old slow race, slowest through according to stop watch wins.

The Angels up to no good.

Cake for 20th year of event.

The angels stole the cups for a photo, they did not win any cups.

Camp site and road into camp.

Took this shot as two of the guys were leaving to go home today, they are both contractor electricians from my work, one with a TL 1000 and other with a 150 cc scooter, interesting combination.

When we left site a friend of mine suggested its to good of day to ride 50 km to home so we done a extra 300 km and went the real long way around and my wife also left her angel friends and decided to join my buddy for the ride home.

Swapped with the wife to give her go on the Ninja but after 15 min she wanted to swap back and last photo was our lunch stop on way home.

Nice Kiwi... Thanks! I guess yesterday was the first day of Spring for you guys... looks like you'll be getting a bit warmer while we'll be getting a bit colder now. That sure is some beautiful real estate you guys have down there.

We call 1st of sept spring and next weekend we move our clocks forward 1 hr for daylight saving. It is getting lighter and warmer but still have the odd days that start out with a frost where I live.

That whole thing looked like a lot of fun. I noted the angels had halos. Great report and photos.

Looks like a fun day. Your wife has good taste preferring the V over the 1000

She just starting to admit the versys is a great bike to ride as when she had her cruiser she used to tease me about my plastic bike but always reminded her Suzuki had just as much plastic.

She was telling one of my mates how easy the V is to handle but she did not want to tell me at first.

Great ride event! You may not ever get to ride the Versys again now.

Thats my concern, she has just asked if she can use the Versys for a all girl ride called Babes on Bikes in Nov. Made it very clear to her royal highness that I will have the versys away fro 9 days in middle of jan 2013.
