A trip to the Air Force Museum.

Not really a ride but something that blew my mind.

I live close to Dayton Oh and Wright-Pat AFB, which means the Air Force Museum! Lots of really nice air planes and stuff to see and they are always adding or updating something. So I rode over today, I have always taken my car before as I had no way to lock my helmet up. Well now that I have the top box I do so I zipped over and on entering the parking lot saw a sign that said “Motorcycle Parking” Great I thought off in the bushes somewhere. WRONG right by the front doors! AND it was a nice concrete slab marked for bikes tucked in so a car couldn’t hit the bikes without really trying to. Who'd thought the Air Force would take the time, and money, to set up a sweet parking area to bikes?

And just so you know, I bet every Versys ever made could fit in ONE C-5 at the same time! And the B-36 INSIDE is something to see, 6 round motors in pusher PLUS 4 jets. You can walk under it and look up into the open bomb bays and understand why the reds were so worried. Of course the B-52, B-1 and B-2 aren’t all that little either! And there are 4 or 5 F-111, some one like those things, and the rest of the planes are wonderful to see!

If you're ever in this neck of the woods you really should made time to stop and see it. And there's a bicycle shop down the road that was owned by a couple of brothers, The Wright Brothers, you can take in as well.

Or was that look THEN leap?

I have visited that museum a few years back. Enjoyed it a lot.

And IF you're in the 'deep-West' - the Pima Air Museum just south of Tucson, AZ, off I-10 across from Davis-Monthan AFB...

...and be SURE to pay the extra $ for the guided tour thru the 'airplane storage' at D-M!

I've stopped at the Air Force Museum twice on the way home from the Indy MotoGP's, too much to see in one visit & too much walking. Very impressive place. I enjoyed the bus ride to the base and seeing the experimental planes on display. I could understand why people thought they were seeing UFO's.
