Weird Weather Nova Scotia Ride

Well it was a weird weather day yesterday. It was 19C when I left home and mostly sunny. About 100KM's to the Northumberland Straight in New Brunswick and it was 9C with strong winds. Then a freak downpour. Made it home in one piece but chilled to the bone.

Weird weather today. Cold and rain here. Chance of 12 inches of snow in new England. Glad you got back.

Nice pictures. How do you blur the background?

Sorry if I sound like I'm spreading the gospel, but if I knew heated gear was as good as it is, I would have got it a lot sooner than I did.

Hey Sprocket, I have a F1.4 lens that does most of the blurring and then use Lightroom to play around more.

I have no doubt how much heated gear and gloves would be but also how much would it all cost? All the clothes plus heating kit??

I have Gerbings heated jacket liner and their T5 heated gloves + a dual channel temp controller + controller pouch (hangs controller on exterior of jacket so you can adjust underway). IMO there's no point in their heated pant liners as insulated motorcycle pants work fine. When your core is warm the extremities stay warm with less insulation. Basically it makes that 13C to 0C range as comfortable as riding in 20C weather.

I found it is cheaper to order out of the States than purchase locally. In total I think it cost me $500CDN, not cheap but you can ride comfortably as long as you have traction (no snow or ice on the road). Tourmaster heated gear is slightly cheaper quality wise but also much less $$ than Gerbings - it includes the temp controller you have to purchase separately with other brands.
