Scotland for (another) day

I can get a ferry to Scotland for a day return sailing at the cheap price of 25.00. Well, why wouldn't you ?

I downloaded my route from this site http://www.motorcyclescotland.com/index.asp and this is the route I did. http://www.motorcyclescotland.com/so...ycle-route.asp

Fantastic weather was had and unusually warm for the time of year. I got the 07:30 ferry out and the 19:30 ferry back, so I had just about ten hours of riding time to play with.

I stopped off for lunch in the Buccleuch Arms Hotel, http://www.motorcyclescotland.com/bu...hotel.asp?id=1 which is run by bikers and had a lovely meal of breaded Scottish haddock. But I didn't want to relax too much as I had many more miles to do before getting back on the boat.

I also got chatting to the owner of this Aston Martin DB6 Mk2 (1969). Beautiful car and very rare (and expensive). I had also passed an immaculate red E Type Jag on my trip, but decided not to turn round and chase him to get a pic.

This isn't much of a trip report, I just wanted to share a couple of the snaps I took, but I did 320 miles door to door and got home at 22:20 absolutely knackered. However, it's amazing what you can do with a day off work, some sunny weather and Scotland as your neighbour.

In Scotland, a land is a building

I went on a tour during the Fringe Festival and entered a courtyard to see Gladstone's Land.

The land is the upper shoreline of Loch Ryan. The ferry heads down this safe haven to make port in Cairnryan.

Good luck exploring the infinite abyss

Beautiful. It's been a long time since I've toured Scotland but your photos are a good reminder that one day I should return to the village my ancestors called home.

This fall we're off to the Isle of Man. My wife has never been there and I've only visited four times so it's time to return and enjoy it once again.

Too bad the trip will cost more than 25 Pounds Sterling.

Nice trip and thanks for the pics. Scotland is beautiful. Been to Isle of Skye, beautiful place but it brings me a weird feeling cause it's so isolated. Out of luck too, didn't see Nessie in Loc Ness.
