Thursday was so nice I took 1/2 day of leave and took the long way home.
Went up the back side of Green Mountain. Here is a view to the east.
and my Versys in the photo.
Out in the county I saw this wild looking car/motorcycle and gave chase through the curves. Followed him into his driveway to see what it was.
It is an '06 T-Rex running a Kawasaki Ninja motor.
The guy says he has the only one registered in Alabama. It is registered as a motorcycle but he wasn't wearing a helmet. Said the cops don't know what it is so they don't know he should be wearing one. It was definitely a cool vehicle, but I would classify it as more car than bike because of the sitting position and having a stearing wheel and gas pedal.
Then today I jumped on the KLR for a 2 hour ride on the local roads near my house. I don't think I got to ride one day last February.
I love the Versys but I could never ride as fast on gravel as I can on the KLR.
The T-Rex looks fascinating. In fact, so fascinating I visited their web site - www.campagnamotors.com - and I was even more fascinated (translation: pole-axed amazed!).
A new T-Rex 14R, powered by a Kawasaki 1400 cc inline four, starts at $56,499! That's "starts at" $56,499! The gentleman you followed to his driveway must have an impressive amount of disposable income. I can understand why it's the only one registered in the state. I wonder if he would consider adopting me?
"Plan? Plan! There ain't no plan."
Pig Killer, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
He had quite an impressive estate and my curiosity about this machine overwelmed my trepidation of getting shot by some drug dealer. He must love the attention though because he told me that it takes him a half an hour to leave a gas station because of all the people who want to come up and talk about it.
