Versys in the snow

It doesn't work.

Well, not with street tires anyway.
Snow is a bit of novelty in these parts so I wanted to play around a little.
I was cursing myself the whole time. I had zero traction and had to make a path with a shovel. I did learn how to do 'donuts' but not intentionally.

Dogs didn't mind the white stuff.

I am ready for spring now. Enough with the cold.

Cheers.

I see your ADV sticker on the swingarm so I can see why you had to try but in snow knobbies are definitely your friend! Street tires are doable but knobbies or even studded tires make it so much easier.

Ride To Live, Live To Ride....no, really!

When I donated my Ninja I had to get it out of my living room, but we had just gotten 6" of snow. I backed it out my door into the snow on my lawn. I figured I'd just ride it the 20 feet to the driveway, but trying to get moving on a slight incline was harder than I thought. Like Ivan, I also accidentally learned how to do a "donut".

Snow + grass = no traction (duh).

45 degrees her yesterday so I decided to take the KLR out...Rode through the yard to get to the part of the driveway not covered in ice....Spun the rear tire with just a little bit of throttle. Got it stuck about 3 or 4 times, amazed I didn't dump it...I'd say the only hope a bike has in the snow is off-road knobbies with studs...

Thanks for sharing! How cool (and cold) it should be

Here we reached -15°C (5°F) last night, and I did wonder if I would take my V... how can I say that... No
