First 2012 Ride in France

Hi guys,

Even the weather was pretty bad (rainy and cold), I wanted to ride because I was feeling not really good. I miss riding my V for a couple of weeks, and other troubles... so I did it.

For the moment in Ambérieu, and in the whole département of Ain, we are frightening floods of many rivers.http://www.leprogres.fr/ain/2012/01/...ons-dans-l-ain

Anyway, here are some pics done on Saturday afternoon, with a small ride of 60km.

Charabotte Waterfall (photo taken in the middle of November)...

The same on Saturday

Near Hauteville-Lompnes, the temperature had gone under 0°C (almost -5°C) and a snowstorm was about to begin

Albarine River, near Chaley:

Some waterfalls:

Ahh, very nice. Thank you.

Does Tour de France run trough that part of the country? Some areas in your pictures look kind of familiar.

Well, the last time that Tour de France crossed Ain département used to be in 2007 (stage 6 between Semur-en-Auxois and Bourg-en-Bresse and stage 7 between Bourg-en-Bresse and Le Grand-Bornand).

In 2012, a full Ain-département stage (not really sure, but it is the 11th) will be held between Mâcon (even if it is in Saône-et-Loire département) and Bellegarde-sur-Valserine.

The Cascade de Glandieu is absolutely spectacular!! What a beautiful part of France you live in.

I'm very jealous - even though there is snow on the ground. We don't see much snow in San Antonio, Texas.
