First Versys Adventure

Off on my first long ride on the V on Saturday. I'm going to North Wales from Poole , it's only about 220 miles but hopefully will have some fun on the Welsh mountain roads.
I going with 4 friends on a mixture of bikes. My V, a Kawasaki Z1000SX, a Suzuki B King, and GSX1400 and a Yamaha R1. Mine is the smallest bike , but I never get left behind
I will try and post some pictures next Tuesday when we get back

Have fun and do your own ride.

Ride safe and post some picture on your return.

I ride with these guys every week, and as two of us have young kids we all want to come home safe. We are all old enough to know when to let the right grip have it's way. And I think the weather may be a bit damp so we will be careful

After 265 miles, 100 of which were in very wet conditions (it's supposed to be summer ha ha) we arrived at the Welsh town of Barmouth.
Checked in to a liitle Art Deco hotel with a stunning view out to sea. The owner allowed us to put the bikes in his garage.
Once we crossed the old Severn Bridge it stopped raining and it warmed up and the roads were dry and we took a scenic route up through the Brecon Beacons to Aberystwyth on very twisty and well surfaced roads, much better than English roads.
We had dinner in a local pub about 200 yards from the hotel and enjoyed watching the local girls enjoying their Saturday night.
Pictures to come when I get home
Darren

We rode to Mount Snowdon yesterday. It was about 40 miles. As we crossed the Llanberis Pass it started to rain. As we climbed the mountain on the steam train the rain got worse, the wind was gale force and it was like being in a cloud. We got to the summit and went into the cafe, the rain was horizontal. Braved the wind with my buddy Jim, and walked up to the very top of the mountain at just over 1000 metres. Walking back down to the cafe was like have ice thrown in your face whilst being under a cold shower
As we got back to the bikes, it was still raining and the streams that we saw on the way there were now raging torrents and water several inces deep was running down the road. What should have been an hours ride back took nearly 2 hours due the water. We still had a great time despite the weather
Got back from Wales at 6pm after leaving our hotel at 10.30am. It rained, stopped and then rained some more!!!
We did over 600 miles over the weekend, and it seemed most of it was in the wet
Had a great first adventure on the V
